For pre-granulation as well as larger particle sizes we offer shredders with one or more shredder shafts. There are four different designs:
Single shaft shredders model EWS with working widths of 1000 to 2000 mm (39 to 78 inches) and drive motors from 37 kW to 200 kW (50 HP to 250 HP). The shredder rotor is equipped with replaceable knives and is force-fed by a hydraulic pusher device. A screen determines the particle size of the final product. A special type of the EWS models is capable of using screens down to 10 mm (1/4 inches), thus directly producing a re-injectable or extrudable regrind out of big, voluminous parts (bumpers, pallets, boxes, fuel tanks).
Herbold Shredder System
HOG shredders HGM are size-reduction machines which - in themselves - combine the advantages of shredders (blunt cut, relatively immune to foreign bodies) and granulators (reduction by means of cutting, thus suited for soft as well as tough materials).
Two shaft shredders model RM are used for preliminary size reduction steps in recycling lines, e.g. in front of the pre-washing device at the
entry of washing and separation lines. They are also often being used in the volume reduction of voluminous waste that cannot be recycled. Two
shaft shredders are suitable for materials with a high amount of harder metal contents and other foreign particles, e.g. tires, the light
fraction from car shredders and electric cables.
Screw crushers model SZ with one to five shredder shafts for the pre-crushing of brittle materials (e.g. wood), for the debaling of
pressed bales (bottles, paper).
Debaling drums for the generation of a regular material flow if the system is only fed with complete bales. An inclined revolving drum with a diameter of 3 m (115 inches) and a length of 7 m (270 inches), that is equipped inside with shredding elements, opens and destructs the bales (bottles, films, mixed plastics) fed by a belt conveyor. Parts of the drum can be equipped with screen plates for the separation of sand or other inert small particles. To control the output the inclination angle of the drum as well as its rotating speed can be varied.
